How do I help open up my heart?
Relax into it. Relax into the chest. Remember that everything comes – all in good time. It is less work than you currently believe. Opening the heart is a process of allowing and relaxing. Opening the heart is something every human is equipped to do. One part of the equation is to practice not closing it. Notice when thoughts, events, occurrences close the heart down – if only just a little. When your mind attempts to close down your heart, treat it as you would a young vulnerable child. Be kind, let it know it can relax and in this moment, protection is not required. Then focus your intention and imagination on opening the heart centre.
Sense the energy moving in the chest. Relax into it a sense what you can. Sense your body, sense the rhythm of your heart beat. Just sense into it. Allow a gentle smile to blossom on your face. Let the edges of your lips curl up ever so slightly that it triggers a cascade of feel good chemicals in your body. Sink/synch further into that. Notice the seeds of joy or love start to take hold. Become them. Connect with those seeds and allow them to be plant themselves in the area of the chest, the heart chakra, the fourth energy center.
Do not expect. Let go of expectations. Opening the heart occurs when you stop trying. Opening the heart occurs when you surrender. Opening the heart occurs when the mechanisms that block its flow are removed, disintegrated and disappeared. Fall into a feeling of gratitude and appreciation. Let those emotions wash over you like a warm bath. This combination, the gentle smile, the deep sense of gratitude & appreciation, and profound surrender – this is the recipe for opening your heart.
