Q: How can I let go into the unknown more easily, with greater ease?

Practice is useful. Letting go is a skill that one can acquire with a calm, attentive heart and mind. Realizing that in the moments you are fully present, there is nothing but here and now. Right now. Always. The busy mind is there as your persona attempts to draw you away from realizing your true self.

Letting go requires trust. Trust in all there is. Trust in a power greater than you currently imagine. Relaxing into a meditation and allowing the connection to universal intelligence requires trust, practice and most definitely patience and calm. Serenity, discovery, and allowing are the ingredients along with trust that allow the human heart and mind to sink/synch into the flow of all things. Synching is a ride, it’s a roller coaster that one experiences with awe and wonder. Allowing yourself to tap into the flow, is akin to gliding into a flow of water on a river and letting it take you where it may. Use your will to open up, allow and surrender.

There is no place for judgement here; no place for lower energy emotions like frustration, anger, or resentment. Yet, allowing yourself to process through these emotions is the most direct path to releasing yourself from the rock that is preventing you from flowing down the river. The rock feels so enormous, so immoveable, and so real – yet, it is enough for you accept that it is there, nudge yourself away from it, and find a way to emancipate yourself from its hold. Once you have unencumbered yourself, you are swiftly taken by the current.

Let these tidal waves take you on the ride of your life, that is the magic in life. Acknowledge the rocks on the path and learn how to disengage yourself your deftly, easily, quickly and without resenting their presence in the river. So what that they are there? They are there. They have been placed there by you and by others in the world around you. So what? There is no point in complaining about them, becoming upset by them, or allowing their presence to prevent you from flowing with the waters. There is just no point.

Time spent feeling aggravated by their presence is time you steal from yourself in creative, lively, and passionate pursuits. Don't be a thief! See these rocks for what they are, attention grabbers of a sort - attention seekers. Greet them, acknowledge them, even thank them for what they are attempting to achieve with you. Greet them and bid them farewell quickly and easily. Let them know that you’ve got this and that now, at this time in your life, you are ready, willing and able to process through them and leave them behind. As these rocks get smaller and weaker, at some point they will dislodge completely from the river floor of your mind and disintegrate. For they are no longer required to move you forward – or stop you moving forward.

Greet these rocks of all sizes, shapes & materials with kindness, love and appreciation. Recognize their presence and let them know that you appreciate their service, but it is no longer required. There presence has kept you in a box. You are learning enough to know that there are more adventures to be had. There is something burning within you that wants to connect with that true nature, that secret, that golden thread that connects us all.

When you feel the flow coming, synch into it. Sink into where ever and however it carries you. Dislodge yourself and sink/synch in. Release yourself. Free yourself. Move out of the way like a bullfighter, gracefully, energetically, skillfully, thoughtfully, with exuberance and courage. Move out of the way and let the flow, flow. Let the movement take you with it. Let the sights, sounds, emotions, sensations, visions, and mystical experiences come to fruition and help grow you, teach you, and fulfill your curiosities.

Courage! Nerve! Daring! Let them rise up to the surface and take you away. The trick is really to do nothing and be nothing. Drop all pretenses. Drop them on a dime. Drop them so quickly that you have no recollection of them whatsoever. Be in the now and just drop them. Feel them rise, feel the rock’s presence and dislodge yourself from behind it and drop all the nonsensical, nonhelpful thoughts from your mind until all that is left is the nothingness of full potentiality. Drop into the nothingness and Be.
